Deborah Bennett came to California wine country first with the dream of being a wine writer. Her goal began to shift away from writing as she became more and more interested in making Pinot Noir. During her research she met Pinot Noir master vintner Greg La Follette, and he offered her an opportunity to work with him as an intern. After two years working with Greg, she decided it was time to make her own Pinot Noir. Her first Pinot, from the Van der Kamp Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain on the western side of the Sonoma Valley, is complex and interesting and a great start for Deborah.
Medium ruby color; subtle, spice and cherry aromas with toast and herbal notes; rich, complex stewed cherry flavors with subtle earthy, spicy notes; good structure and balance; long finish. Subtle, spiced Pinot with nice complexity.
